NFL Youth Education Town (NFL YET) Grants
About The Program
NFL Youth Education Towns (NFL YETs) are the education enrichment centers that serve as legacies in the host cities of each Super Bowl. Launched with a $1 million Super Bowl Legacy Grant from NFL Charities that is matched by the Super Bowl Host Committee, a non-profit entity with a 10-year operating and fundraising plan is established in order to ensure that each NFL YET site remains viable in the community and is able to serve its youth long after the Super Bowl has been played.
The mission of the resulting NFL YET initiative is to enrich the connections between children, staff, volunteers and the diverse communities they serve. Individual NFL YET locations are united and committed to making a positive and lasting difference in the lives of children as members of the larger collective. In addition to the annual $1 million Super Bowl Legacy Grant, NFL Charities allocates $500,000 each year toward NFL-identified programming at the existing NFL YETs across the initiative.
These funds have recently afforded the NFL with the opportunity to extend the fitness goals of NFL PLAY 60 into the YET initaitive by providing for the installation and programmatic integration of the interactive NFL Play Action Fitness Training Systems (powered by HOPSports) at all YET locations; fitness rooms and programs in conjunction with NFL teams in NFL YET cities; and flag football tournaments across the country. Additionally, NFL YET Grants provide for YET-to-YET national collaboration initiatives to build unity and/or create fresh youth-generated marketing materials for locations to share; updated NFL YET signage and communication materials; and the Learn Across America school-based curriculum, to name a few.
