04/05/2011 - NFL CHARITIES AWARDS $1 MILLION IN GRANTS TO CURRENT AND FORMER PLAYERS
NFL Charities, the charitable foundation of the National Football League, has awarded $1 million in grants to support 87 charitable foundations of current and former players, it was announced today.
Players receiving grants this year include New Orleans Saints quarterback DREW BREES, Indianapolis Colts quarterback PEYTON MANNING and Kansas City Chiefs guard BRIAN WATERS and former players DERRICK BROOKS, KURT WARNER and STEVE YOUNG. The grants, which are distributed in amounts up to $50,000, are part of NFL Charities’ annual player foundation grant initiative.
“We are proud to support current and former player foundations and applaud all players’ efforts to make their communities healthy, happy, and safe,” said NFL Commissioner ROGER GOODELL, president of the NFL Charities board of directors.

02/03/2011 - NFL CHARITIES DONATES $1 MILLION TO ESTABLISH NORTH TEXAS YOUTH EDUCATION TOWN
NFL Charities will donate $1 million to establish the North Texas Youth Education Town to fund expansion and renovations at an existing Salvation Army site in Arlington. The announcement was made at the University of Texas at Arlington, and the donation was matched by $1 million from the Gene and Jerry Jones Family Arlington Youth Foundation.

12/21/2010 - NFL CHARITIES AWARDS MORE THAN $1.6 MILLION IN SPORTS MEDICAL RESEARCH GRANTS
NFL Charities, the charitable foundation of the National Football League owners, has awarded more than $1.6 million in grants to support sports-related medical research at 16 organizations, the NFL announced today. Of these grants, $988,224 will go to studying concussion prevention and treatment.
